QuietWave® is a high performance drywall noise barrier that uses a 100% organic rubberised material to dampen the transfer of sound through a wall, floor or ceiling.

QuietWave delivers six star acoustic performance, a class above BCA and NZBC requirements, from the thinnest possible wall system.

At just 1.2 mm thick QuietWave is easily handled and can be installed quickly.

The acoustic 'fabric' is sandwiched between sheets of plasterboard at the time of lining the framework or as a Retro-fit on existing walls which can also be done quickly and easily.
The QuietWave flexible visco-elastic membrane can be penetrated without any degradation in performance.
The finished wall system has a solid feel and when impacted upon, sound resonates similar to a masonry wall.

QuietWave has been certified by the CSIRO Division of Materials Science and Engineering as Group 1 Fire Rated

Tests are showing that when QuietWave is sandwiched between two layers of 13mm fire-rated plasterboard, the Sound Transmission Loss (STL) achieves equivalent to 5 layers of the same plasterboard.

QuietWave exceeds BCA and NZBC G6 minimum requirements for airborne sound insulation for a wall between attached dwellings meeting the highest possible AAAC acoustic rating of 6 stars Rw62 and Rw + Ctr=55 dB with the thinnest possible wall section of 148 mm.

QuietWave increases the low frequency performance of the wall system to counter noise from entertainment sources such as home theatres and any other electronic entertainment noise.

QuietWave also controls the large coincidence dip in the upper-mid frequency region of 2500 - 4000 Hz, which typically occurs in plasterboard walls.

QuietWave® wall system provides a saving of 50% in the width of the wall against a comparable 6 star rated wall system.
Gain 1 m² of floor-space for every 6.6 m length of wall, or reduce the overall footprint of the apartment block.

  • Save money with the industry’s lowest cost 6 star rated wall system.

  • Step up a class with the highest performance AAAC rating at a cost comparable to a 4 star wall system.

  • Exceeds BCA minimum requirements for airborne sound insulation for a wall between attached dwellings

  • The only drywall solution that feels and sounds like a solid brick

  • Highly impact resistant

  • Less weight and thinner walls

  • Environment benefits - made from organic waste products

Significant cost benefits:

  • The Developer has more useable floor space to sell

  • The Builder has easier installation, less material handling

  • The Buyer has more useable floor space, more secure feeling from solid sounding walls and more privacy with the more soundproofed walls

  • High Confidentiality partition wall systems (for Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists, etc)

  • Commercial walls and ceilings

  • Improving existing partition wall & ceiling performance

  • Sole occupancy and inter-tenancy dividing walls

  • Boardroom and office division walls

Is it safe to use and is it durable?

QuietWave is Group 1 Fire Rated to New Zealand and Australian standards – CSIRO Division of Materials Science and Engineering

QuietWave is Low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

QuietWave is extremely durable and will last the lifetime of the building

Is it easy to install?

Yes! QuietWave is very easy to install - no messy glues are required.

QuietWave can be stapled directly to the first layer of plasterboard for wall applications. For ceiling application simply lay the QuietWave over the plasterboard you are lifting into place.

If you are proficient with basic building skills you can do it yourself however a qualified builder is recommended to ensure it is installed correctly and in a timely manner

Can it be installed using standard plasterboard?

Yes. Quietwave can be installed using standard plasterboard however to achieve optimal results we recommend 13mm Noise and/or Fire rated plasterboard.

Do I need to remove any existing plasterboard if I'm retrofitting QuietWave

No you don't - as long as the existing plasterboard is in good condition Quietwave can be applied directly over the top. However we do recommend the finished layer of plasterboard is 13mm thick

Do you supply an installation guide?

Yes- we provide easy to follow installation instructions. Also check out our installation guide video below

Are there any tips or recommendations to achieve the best results?

Yes we can provide lots of tips to achieve the best results including the installation of acoustic rated insulation in cavities, resilient seals and best practice for the installation of the plasterboard

We can also recommend the best way to manage penetrations with regards to power outlets and lighting.

What results can I expect?

If installed correctly QuietWave will instantly reduce sound transmission between walls and floors.
